With a fantastic selection of hen night options, Bristol is the perfect spot for you and the girls to party the night away. Whether you're hopping from bar to bar around the harbourside or living it up on Whiteladies Road and Park Street, you're guaranteed a fantastic hen night out in Bristol!

Your guide to hen nights in Bristol

Bristol hen nights have always been popular; the city offers a fantastic range of bars, restaurants and nightclubs to suit any group. The main nightlife area of Bristol is the Waterfront. The area boasts the city's best bars to start the night with a cocktail, the best restaurants to dine in and some of the best nightclubs in the south west. If you and the girls are looking for something different, Bristol offers an evening with some hen's hosts and a karaoke bar to sing those classics! If you want to work on your cocktail funds why not head to the casino for a little blackjack or roulette with the girls. With all the best bars and nightclubs that Bristol has to offer in one place, it makes the Waterfront the perfect place to spend your hen night.

Bars and Pubs

Bristol is busting full of great pubs and bars. There's a wide variety of venues, from relaxed cider pubs which overlook the water and relaxed lounge bars to buzzing cocktail hotspots and swanky, stylish bars. Bar Humbug on Whiteladies Road, for example, is a funky, luxurious, hedonistic bar full of young, party-loving types or try out Severnshed, the 'hippest drinking spot on the river' for a stylish al fresco drink out on the terrace - watch out for the futuristic toilets and hover pads! Whiteladies Road is the place to be for drinks with the girls before you hit the clubs, offering continental-style restaurants and bars for drinks and nibbles and be sure to head out to the area around Queen's Road for trendy, stylish joints when the sun goes down. Rupert Street and the surrounding vicinity is also an ideal place to experience Bristol hen night entertainment at its finest.

Best Bits in Bristol

This city is full of fantastic cultural activities and sights to appreciate when night falls as an alternative to hitting the bars and clubs all night. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is one of the UK's most recognisable landmarks and it looks beautiful by night. Wander along the bridge and admire Brunel's amazing handiwork - even better if you happen to catch it during the Bristol Balloon Fiesta, it's even more of a sight to behold - a truly magical event. Laugh the night away at a comedy club, try out the casino or belt out some classic tunes at the karaoke. The city of Bristol is also a wonderful place to simply wander and take in the varied, continental-feeling streets which really come alive at night.

Getting Around Bristol

Bristol is a pleasant place to explore on foot and luckily all of the major nightlife spots and bar-lined streets are within relatively easy walking distance of each other. The city can be a little confusing to navigate, however, so consider picking up a free blue map which can be found in hotels, hostels and train stations all around Bristol. If you're not willing to brave the drizzle or are simply tired of tottering in your six-inchers, hop on a reasonably priced First bus (but check you're on the right track with the driver - it's a big place!) or jump in a taxi - they can take a while at the weekends though, due to heavy traffic and busy crowds. Book ahead with one of GoHen's trusted firms to make sure you're all ready to go. From hostels to swanky apartments, all of our Bristol accommodation is located conveniently close to everything you'll need and want from the city.

Boogie Down in Bristol

Clubbing in Bristol really is second to none, offering 10+ large, major venues to visit when the sun goes down. Big chain clubs deliver the full package, with several different bars, dance floors and a variety of music all under one roof, so that everyone stays happy when you're out on the tiles. Appreciate cheesy 80s numbers, the latest chart hits or dance and club classics on separate floors. Expect dancers on stilts, fire eating and other daring circus-style acts on your night out too - Bristol hen nights are party central! There are several clubs dedicated entirely to cheesy music, which is ideal for busting out some retro funky moves with your pals, or sit back and enjoy quality live music in venues all over town. There are even house, techno and drum and bass spots for hardcore clubbers. Due to the city's massive student population, the club scene is always changing and improving to meet demand, making for some of the best nights you'll ever experience as well as music to suit all tastes.

Bristol Bevvies

You probably won't be too surprised to hear that cider culture is alive and well in the west country's biggest city - they even dedicate a massive festival to it every year! Although you'll probably be far more interested in jazzy cocktails than the boozy apple stuff, it really is a must try when you're in the area. Visit The Apple, converted from a Dutch barge, and you'll be sure to find your favourite out of their 40 ciders available on tap. The Bristol Cider House near Cabot Circus is also a fantastic choice, as it allows you and your friends to try out 8 different delicious ciders from a tasting tray. You'll be a cider connoisseur before you know it! If you're on the lookout for something a little different, be sure to check out Illusions, the UK's only magic bar, which serves up card tricks with your cocktails or Fiddlers, which is located in an ancient disused jail. Aside from these, there's a huge range of watering holes to choose from, including the cheap, cheerful and student-friendly to tasteful cocktail joints and lively karaoke bars. Bristolians rarely go thirsty!

Bristol Bites

Once again, you'll be spoilt for choice when dinnertime arrives in Bristol. Head to the harbourside, Cabot Circus or the Old Town for an excellent range of restaurants to suit every palette, from modern takes on classic British cuisine like gourmet pies and steaks to group-pleasing chain restaurants that you'll recognise and love. Being a multicultural city, there's also food from around the globe to try. Indian, Italian and Chinese restaurants are all in plentiful supply as well as Spanish tapas, delicate French and spicy Caribbean. Gastropubs and tea rooms are all to be found in Bristol as well, along with the largest restaurant in the UK! If all that choice sounds a little too overwhelming, however, let us organise a group meal for you and your hens in a range of popular restaurants, to ensure great value, tasty grub and no disagreements over where to eat each night!
