Just like a great outfit, a hen party needs a few accessories. These days with just a click of a mouse you can find no end of hen accessories to help decorate the hen party and the hens themselves or perhaps just a few trinkets to help get your party started.

At GoHen we've been organising hen parties since 2002 during which time we’ve helped over 500,000 guests get away for a pre-wedding party to help the nearly-wed celebrate the forthcoming big event, we have plenty of great hen party planning tips and have seen more than our fair share of hen party accessories. So here’s a rundown of a few of our favourites hen accessories.

Hen Party Bags

A great way to get everyone in the party mood. You can add as little or as much as you to each bag and even theme them in keeping with your weekend. Might be a good idea to pop a pain killer in each bag as well just to help ease any hen hangovers the morning after a great night out.

Hen Badges

A fun way to either spot each other in a busy bar (flashing badges we think), or you can have some fun by giving each guest a hen party nickname for the weekend. Ask the guest what their favourite sweet or chocolate bar is and voila! Instant nickname.

Hen I.D. Cards

If you have a group of hens who haven’t all met before, as is often the case with guests coming from different walks of the bride-to-be’s life, then creating hen party I.D. Badges make for a great hen party accessory. Add each guest’s name, role at the wedding (mother of the bride, bridesmaid, etc) or relationship to the bride and maybe add a cheeky question or two for girls to fill in on their cards; “I’ll have a…” (tipple of choice).
You can make cards by either printing onto sticky labels or (if you want to be super-swanky) laminate some including a photo of each hen.

Hen Party T-Shirts

If you don’t want to go the whole hog (fancy dress) then T-Shirts are a neat way of bringing all the girls together and making you easy to spot in crowded bars. There is no end to the fun/madness you can have with your T-Shirts, whether you’re opting to go D.I.Y. and make them yourselves or get them printed out. These days as far as hen party accessories go, hen T-shirts are pretty much obligatory.

Hen Party Sashes

Another almost tradition hen party accessory and a nice alternative to T-shirts.

But a sash doesn’t just have to be for the guest of honour, you can get the whole party in on the act with a sash for each guest. They’re well priced, easily available or you can have a go at making your own.

Pretty much standard party procedure. But with modern printing techniques and online shopping or high street party suppliers you can get all manner of personalised balloons in some, shall we just say... “interesting” shapes.

Once again these are really affordable, can help dress the nearly-wed’s room or your self catering property and can be personalised through online retailers or high street party supply shops.

Party Games

Quite frankly it isn’t a hen party unless you have some sneaky fun and games up your sleeve. At GoHen we have created our own set of hen party games perfect to break the ice and get your weekend off to a flying start.

New Mrs Costume

If you don’t want to get everyone dressed up then why not just treat the soon-to-be-Mrs to her own costume. Stags often stitch up the groom by turning him into a “pipe and slippers man” with matching dressing gown, slippers and pipe to remind him of his new place (and knowing those boys they are probably hinting that his party days are over) so why not get the bride in on the act with a housecoat, rollers, comfy slippers and a few other accoutrements, all of which you can pick up at thrift shops and charity shops for little expense.

Hen Party Survival Kit

How can you survive the big weekend without feeling too many of the consequences afterwards? Well, you can try arming yourselves with a rather cool hen party survival kit which you can tailor to the theme of your party and fill to suit your needs.

Info Card

Another handy idea for your hen accessories is an info card. Perhaps not as fun as some of the other items on our list but they really can be helpful during the weekend. Pre-print cards with useful info like phone numbers for key members of the group, the address and phone number for the hotel, a number for local taxis and other useful information should members of the group get split up.
At GoHen we’re always happy to help so if you’re planning a hen do with us we will send you information including useful contact numbers and addresses ahead of your weekend. In fact it’s this sort of attention to detail that means 96% of our users say they would book with GoHen and StagWeb again. You can contact us today for a no hassle, free quote to get your party underway.
