Ibiza has got to be the ultimate destination for any hen night! Famous for its party nightlife, Ibiza has some of the best nightclubs on the globe and popular with the international DJ set. After a day of beach activities, it's time to let your hair down and raise your glasses to the hen! A great start to the night is our sunset party cruise followed by finishing the night in style with entrance to one of Ibiza's famous superclubs!

Your guide to hen nights in Ibiza

As the birthplace of rave, Ibiza's matchless nightlife itself hardly needs an introduction. It's the party capital of the world and this little island boasts some of the world's biggest clubs with whopping capacities of up to 8,000 people, huge nights and famous DJs. It's every celebrity's party spot of choice and you'll soon be celebrating like the best of them! The party scene gets going very late at night, so you'll have plenty of time to fit in some of our excellent nightlife activities before you get out on the tiles.

Bars and Pubs

There's a pub or bar at literally every street corner on this decadent island. The area around Calle Santa Ines in the main town of San Antonio, known to revellers as the West End, is the place to be for drinks before the clubs get packed out. Incredible sound systems pump out the latest hits all night long and with communal tables and chairs scattering the pavements, a really relaxed summer vibe is most definitely in the air, where everyone's game for a good laugh and a chat. Check out Funky Flares for some fantastically cheesy 70s, 80s and 90s hits that you'll all love or Viva a couple of doors down, which is dedicated to spinning fresh tunes by new DJs all season long. The 'Sunset Strip' or Calo Des Moro is another must-see when you fancy a few drinks. Right at the beach, sip cocktails on this chilled outstretch whilst you take in the beautiful views and famous sunset. Café Del Mar music café is perfect for a mixed drink or some sangria in a chilled out environment or hit up Café Mambo for a holiday party vibe you'll all love, awesome fire displays and cracking DJs. It's estimated that over 10,000 pictures of the stunning sunset are taken from their waterside veranda every summer season! See if you can snap your own tropical shot when you visit.

What's on in Ibiza

We'll be honest, although there's so much to see and do on the island during the daytime when the sun sets, it really is all about one thing and one thing only - the clubs. If you're a fan of dancing all night and well into the morning or loud, pumping beats, then Ibiza is the destination for you. However, if you and the girls simply fancy a refreshing night off from clubbing on your hen night, this Spanish island can still hold its own. Shop for trinkets and unique boho accessories, play silly carnival games and munch on yummy street food at countless stalls by moonlight or try the Teatro Pereyra for excellent live music in a sweet retro café style bar which may well provide a welcome break from the rave and electronic tunes favoured by the island's clubs. Expect jazz, soul and Latin up on the stage. The beaches are almost as beautiful by night as they are in the day - pitch up in one of the beachside cafes which stay open until the small hours and crack open a bottle of wine to enjoy as you watch the sun go down and catch up with your girlfriends by moonlight. Truly magical.

Getting About Ibiza

In the town of San Antonio, the main party streets lie handily close together and are very flat and easily negotiated, making getting about on foot easy and manageable. If you need to get in and out of the town itself, however, taxis are available throughout the island. Luckily, both of our accommodation options are located really close by to a wide range of top quality bars, restaurants and clubs, meaning that getting out and about at night and rolling back in when the sun comes up is a piece of cake!

Music and Moves

Wild parties and clubbing have been synonymous with Ibiza for years, so you'll all be well aware that there's no shortage of dance floors on the island, but having a good idea of everything on offer is still a good plan, to make sure that you get the most out of your holiday and pick something that's right for everyone. In San Antonio, just like the rest of Ibiza, clubs tend to be swish, swanky, modern and huge, populated with lengthy bars which are often propped up by wealthy gents ordering expensive champagne, cutting edge sound systems and plush comfy chairs or sofas to flop down on when you're tired of dancing. In short, it's a clubber's paradise. Every summer season, the island welcomes the world's biggest acts to decks across the clubs, such as Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris and Pete Tong amongst many others.

Drinking in Ibiza

Drinking is big business in Ibiza, but because it's host to a huge amount of glitzy punters, prices can be high, so look out for the better deals located around town if you're in the market for a better price. Everything from English style pubs and bars to unfathomably glamorous cocktail bars and themed spots are to be found around town - you'll certainly feel a little spoiled for choice in this hedonistic playground for grown-ups. Well-loved Linekers Bar on the beachside is a real favourite amongst groups looking for a good time and a great party atmosphere. Pick up fab drinks deals and yummy, refreshing cocktails for some of the best prices on the island as well as legendary banging tunes. If you're missing home, there are boozy offerings from Wales, Scotland and England too, but your favourite tipples from the UK can be pricey due to importation costs, so it's best to stick to local drinks. Soul city provides something a little different, with jazz, reggae and soul blasting out of the speakers whilst you sip or try out new bar People, which is famous for mixing up excellent cocktails night after night, such as Sex on the Beach, strawberry or banana daquiris and delectable strawberry tequila. Breezes is also a great bar to try - give their notorious 'Dead Man Walking' cocktail a go if you dare, a drink which they claim it's the biggest in Ibiza! Remember to drink responsibly.

Dining in Ibiza

Even the hardest of partiers have to stop for a hearty meal and luckily, restaurants are scattered all over the compacted bay area of San Antonio and are chilled out, Mediterranean style cafes and eateries with chairs and tables outside on the streets and even the seafront are the order of the day. Enjoy cuisines from all over the world in this small but highly cosmopolitan town, including Asian, Indian, Mexican, Italian, French and even English if you fancy a taste of home. Traditional Spanish food is really where it's at though and we urge you to try out some delectable tapas and paella, all washed down with a good glug of sangria of course. Villa Manchega on Calle Isidoro Macabich is recommended for quality Spanish food, as is stylish modern tapas bar Mason Abad, right in the centre of town. Relish is well known as a group-pleasing place to grab a tasty pizza and cocktail and Capitulo Dos Helados Artesanales is an artisan ice-cream parlour which must not be missed! When you book with GoHen, we can offer a range of meals in top restaurants across town which are perfect for your group, so that you keep everyone happy and stay stress-free when dinnertime rolls around. Try out yummy Mediterranean recipes whilst you're on the island, such as an ensaimada, which is a delicious soft pastry or flao, a cheese and mint tart, both of which are unique to Ibiza. This holiday hotspot is very international and luckily for us Brits, everyone and their mum's dog speaks English - but throwing in a 'hola' (hello) or 'gracias' (thanks) here and there is always a nice gesture. Tipping is common throughout Europe and although leaving your waiter an extra isn't essential of course, 10% is standard if you were pleased with your service.

Go with GoHen

If you're looking for club heaven on earth, then Ibiza really is the last word in hen night destinations. There's so much to see and world-class music from top DJs like David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia every summer season. However, we know from experience that the biggest and most popular clubs sometimes don't open their doors until midnight, with the party really getting started around 2am, so getting some earlier evening entertainment booked up is a great idea. Catch the famous sunset on a boat cruise with lashings of sangria, then pull up to the club in your own personal limousine! Swish. If you have a different combination in mind, let us know and we'll be happy to form a customised package just for you. The 2.8 million tourists who visit this party island every year can hardly be wrong!
