🔥 Planning a 2026 Hen Do?

Don't miss our limited-time deals!

Whilst there are many advantages to booking your own self-catering property, you cannot go wrong with a hotel on a hen do.

From ease of booking to cracking central locations, greater flexibility to better cancellation terms, hotels are the low-stress, high-reward option.

10 Benefits of a Hotel for a Hen Do

  1. Central locations
  2. Less likely to share a bed
  3. Greater flexibility with numbers
  4. Lower up-front deposits
  5. Better cancellation terms
  6. Daily housekeeping services
  7. More flexible with needs & budgets
  8. On-site amenities
  9. Accessibility
  10. Luxury add-ons

1. Cracking Central Stays

The majority of hotels will be located right in the centre of the city or right by the best tourist attractions saving you time and money (no expensive taxis having to get anywhere).

Most houses will be slightly out of the city centre.

2. You're Less Likely to Have to Share a Bed

With a range of room types on offer, from single to twins, you're less likely to have to share a bed with any of the other hens.

This is particularly good for groups where the bride has people from all walks of her life coming who might not know each other well.

3. Greater Flexibility with Numbers

When booking self-catering properties, you'll need to know exact numbers there and then.

However, we know people are flaky and drop out, which is why we'd recommend a hotel if you're not sure as they are a lot more flexible with numbers.

Here at GoHen, we know people are likely to drop out, which is why we don't need final numbers until six weeks before your event.

For more information, read our quick blog on booking when you don't know final numbers.

4. Lower Up-Front Deposits

Some self-catering properties command hefty deposits upfront.

When booking a hotel through GoHen, we only need one small deposit (from just you, not your whole group) to secure your event.

You'll then be able to pay your balance over simple, easy instalments.

Find out how GoHen's deposits and individual payments work here.

5. Better Cancellation Terms

Hopefully, you won't have to cancel... but sometimes things happen.

Hotels usually have flexible cancellation terms simply due to the volume they work at.

6. Daily Housekeeping Services

Don't make the bed in your self-catering property, you're going to be getting back into that same unmade bed later that evening.

In a hotel, their daily housekeeping services will ensure you'll have a nice clean room waiting for you when you get in after another day of hen party carnage.

7. More Flexible with Needs & Budgets

Hotels have so many options available within the same complex, you're almost certain to find something to meet your needs and budgets.

8. Bars, Restaurants & More

Possibly the best reason for booking a hotel.

Before you head out on the town, you and the hens can gather in the bar or restaurant to raise a few glasses to the bride before you bounce on out.

Also, if people are taking their sweet time getting ready, you can pop down for a glass of wine whilst you wait.

9. Accessibility

Most hotels are incredibly accessible, whereas self-catering properties are all unique and won't necessarily be set up to cater for everyone.

10. Luxury Add-Ons

We're talking spas. We're talking swimming pools. We're talking gyms, rooftop terraces - the works!
