Stand-up paddleboarding does exactly what it says on the tin. You stand up on boards and you paddle. It just happens to be one of the coolest sports ever invented.
You know how when you run your legs go all flappy and you look like someone being attacked by bees. Or when you tried tennis, you might as well have been hitting eggs with a frying pan for the number of times you got it back over the net. Well SUP is one sport where everybody who does it looks good. We love it!
A friendly instructor will show you all the basics before you even touch the water. You'll practise on dry land then take to the river like hens to water. Each hen will have her own board and paddle. You'll gently paddle down what is a really stunning stretch of water. Finally, you'll be the queens of a sport which just feels great. Even the least sporty in your group will feel comfortable doing this. With the added bonus that in the summer months you can top up your tans while you go.
Invented back in the 1940's on Waikiki Beach, Hawaii, this is a real taste of summer and will totally make you feel like the gorgeous beach babes you are. It's also a quite an addictive sport and something you'll find yourself wanting to do again when you get home.
