Punting Oxford

Oxford is renowned for its history and beauty, making it a quintessential hen destination. One of the more traditional Oxford city delights is punting, a perfect hen activity that allows the bride-to-be and her guests to kick back, have fun and enjoy the company of great friends. Punting really is an elegant and relaxing addition to any Oxford hen party, you can take in the stunning sights while you have a giggle and a chat with the girls.

The standard package is a 30 minute chauffeured punt and, if you're feeling brave enough, the guide will teach you how to punt and even let you have a go! You will take a trip downstream through Christchurch Meadows, past the beautiful Botanic Gardens and past some of the world-famous Oxford University colleges, out onto the Thames and return you to the boathouse.

As the old song says:
"When the weather is fine then you know it's a sign
For messing about on the river.
If you take my advice there's nothing so nice

Mind you, the Spice Girls told us to "Zig-a-zig-aahhh" so you can't believe everything you hear on the radio. However, an Oxford punt really is the best way to see the city and just totally turn off, sit back and relax as the waterway drifts lazily by. Add a picnic or some champagne and what better way to enjoy a wonderful day with fantastic friends?

• A 30 minute chauffeured punt tour into Christchurch, where you will be dropped off on the river bank with a picnic hamper (including wine, of course!) for a relaxing riverside lunch. You will be picked up when you are finished and returned to the boathouse.
