Lisbon is one of Europe's oldest cities and you don't need to be a crusty history buff in a brown cardie with leather elbow patches to want to see a bit more of this amazing party city. If you shudder at the thought of giant pub crawls and messy drinking games and want something altogether more civilised but still brilliant fun, then this fab city tour is ideal.
You'll be greeted by your friendly English-speaking host who'll be happy to answer questions throughout the tour. You'll then set off on Portugal's oldest form of public transport (walking!). The three-hour tour will take you through some of the city's most recognisable and interesting areas and past the most famous sights.
Instagrammers can go absolutely nuts with no end of fantastic photo ops which you can upload to show everyone your adventures. On your tour you'll visit:
Baixa The old downtown district of the city. As well as some interesting culturally historical facts, Baixa is home to a culturally significant treat, Pastel de Nata, what us Brits would rather unflatteringly call a custard tart, but that doesn't do this amazing sweet treat justice.
Chiado - The glamorous part of the city with its iconic cafés and shops. This is a great chance to do a little window shopping in some of the city's more expensive stores.
Alfama - You'll head to Alfama on a vintage tram, this beautifully ancient Moorish neighbourhood is home to a medieval palace which now houses a wine bar ("Wine o'clock anyone?"). It's the perfect time to rehydrate and you'll get to sample tapas and local wines.
Carmo Square -Where you'll find historic church ruins, stunning jacarandas with their amazing blossom and the Santa Justa elevator which raises 32 metres offering incredible views over the city.
Lisbon Cathedral - Lisbon's oldest church, dating back to 1150.
Comercio Square - One of the city's biggest tourist sights, sitting on the banks of the Targus River.
Please Note: We work with 1000s of suppliers across the UK & Europe so prices, availability, photos and specifics on our walking tour activity may vary depending on your preferred location and dates.
