Star Bars

Bars in Llangollen

Aqueduct Inn - This unique pub certainly stands out from the outside with its bright yellow paint job, and it's just as intriguing upon entry with its constantly changing selection of real ales. Couple a delicious pint with the stunning views of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and you've got a local venue that's well worth a visit!
Where? The Aqueduct Inn, Holyhead Road, LL20 7PY

Corn Mill - The Corn Mill is rustic, homely and incredibly spirited. With a water wheel constantly turning behind the bar, you can't help but be reminded of this pub's local history and importance - something that you can become a part of with just a quick glass (or three) of wine.
Where? The Corn Mill, Dee Lane, LL20 8PN

Gales of Llangollen - Do you love wine? Then Gales is the place for you! You only need to look behind the bar to see how highly they regard the grape (there's around a hundred bottles from around the world) and as we all know, mixing the girls with these delicious vintages often results in plenty of uncontrollable giggles!
Where? 18 Bridge Street, LL20 8PF

Food in Llangollen

Best Bites

Vintage Rose Tea Rooms - A spot of lunch in these beautifully retro-chic surroundings is sure to go down well with the girls. You can enjoy plenty of tea alongside tasty sandwiches and devilishly delicious homemade cakes - and if you get there early enough, they do one of the best fry-ups in Llangollen!
Where? 4 Guildhall Hill, NR2 1JH

Fouzi's - We can't think of a bad thing to say about pizza. It's literally the perfect food; going out? Pizza. Hungover? Pizza. Feeling blue? Pizza, pizza, pizza. Bearing these totally viable arguments in mind, you should definitely treat yourselves to dinner in Fouzi's. It's the best Italian in Llangollen, and they have an extensive menu filled with delicious dining options to suit any taste.
Where? 7 Bridge Street, LL20 8PG

Sights & Sounds

Sights
Sights and Sounds in LlangollenIt's not every day you get to see castle ruins that were once the welsh equivalent of 'Winterfell' from Game of Thrones - that's exactly what you'll find if you make the trek to Dinas Bran, or 'Crows Castle' as it's more commonly known. This can be a bit of a hike, but on a sunny day it's a hugely enjoyable walk with some stunning views of Llangollen beneath you - and let's be honest, no Thrones fan is going to be able to resist roaring 'winter is coming' at the top of their lungs when they reach the ruins!

Sounds
Llangollen's bubbly young professionals all enjoy kicking back and relaxing in The Sun. This pub features live music most nights, and we're tempted to say that this fun venue is Llangollen's best kept secret. Evenings here always seem to carry on until late, and this spirited pub is always full of laughter once the music's started - plus men from the countryside can be seriously dishy, just look at Matt Baker...

There's a vintage craze sweeping Wales at the moment, and it's certainly reached Llangollen. This quiet town is full of twenty-something's that look as if they've gone into their parent's lofts to dig out the best bits of fashion they can find from the 70's, 80's and 90's to create a unique look for them. This style is seriously cool, and best of all, it's astoundingly cheap. It's time to jump aboard the second-hand hype train hens!

Harley's Vintage Boutique - These are clothes that aren't quite ready for retirement, presented like designer wears in this beautifully bijou boutique - there's some stunning dresses here that you can buy for bargain prices.
Where? Y r Hen Efail, Castle Street, LL20 8PN
Barnardo's - It's a charity shop, yes. But where else are you likely to find the most authentic vintage clothing going? Plus all the money goes to a good cause, and you can get a stylish top or two for the cost of one!
Where? 15 Castle Street, LL20 8NY
Honey Pots - This delightfully cute little shop sells lovely gifts and hand crafted pottery goods that'll look absolutely lush in your living room back home.
