Sights & Sounds
Newquay is known for its sunny beaches and the awesome surf, so you'd be forgiven for not knowing about the award-winning Zoological gardens. There are big, proud lions here as well as cheeky monkeys and the cutest penguins you'll ever see. A trip to the zoo is a great way to spend a rainy day and at the very least it'll distract you from any enduring hangovers!
As well as its fantastic beaches, Newquay is also a fantastic party town - hidden away in sleepy Cornwall, the nightlife here is seriously buzzing. Berties certainly has the monopoly on BIG nights out on this part of the Cornish coast with lasers, smoke machines and the kind of good times that Newquay's famous for.
You might be able to visit a Walkabout in your home town, but when you've been on the beach all day, spending the night in a bar decked out like the set of I'm a Celeb somehow just feels right. Besides, the aussie barmen are really cute!
In the Diary
February - St. Ives Feast. Enjoy an intense game of Cornish hurling. We'll spare you the details, but just know it involves burly blokes fighting over a tiny silver ball...
August - Boardmasters. The UK's premiere surf/music festival or as we like to call it, 'beach-hunk heaven'.
October - Halloween Zombie Crawl. If you're ready for a true coastal thriller then this is a fabulous spectacle!
November - Fireworks Night. There's something magical about spending November 5th watching pyrotechnics by the sea... at least there's plenty of water nearby if anything goes wrong!
