Where to Drink in Lisbon

Lisbon is a great hen-destination for those on the hunt for some sun-soaking and lavish drinking hotspots. The city is split into quarters, each with its own vibe and drinking scene.

You'll find stylish bars down at the Santo Amaro docks where the views are just as great as the drinks. It's a great hangout for a relaxed evening because of the calming waterside location.

Bairro Alto is one of the trendier districts and here you'll find some super cosy wine bars with heaps of bottles to choose from. The vibrant terraces make for a great place to start a big night out.

Cais do Sodre offers a casual experience for guaranteed happy hens. It's vibrant and well-known for the party atmosphere come cool evenings. Culture is at the heart and you'll feel this coming through the sophisticated and energetic range of bars.

Luvaria Ulisses - This incredible little shop on Rua do Carmo sells nothing but gloves. That might sound odd until you feel the quality of the leather of these timeless, classic accessories. Where? Rua do Carmo.

Getting Around Lisbon

The city's Metro (underground train) system is excellent and while the announcements are made in Portuguese the ticket machines are bilingual so you'll have no problem with tickets. A day pass is a cost-effective way to make the most of your ticket. Bicycle hire is also popular in Lisbon and a great, healthy way to get about.

Lisbon has some truly fantastic nightlife areas. In the hilltop Barrio Alto district, you'll find a lively and vibrant nightlife lining the narrow streets with dozens of restaurants, bars and nightclubs attracting party revellers until dawn - there's more than 100 bars and restaurants to try out here!
