Hall of Cakes
Any nay-sayers who have yet to appreciate the true artistry at work in a wedding cake should spend some time in the amazing Hall of Cakes. If you’re looking for ‘elegant and refined’ then Nicola Hall and her team are the wise heads to turn to. Having appeared on Channel 4, BBC and Channel Five, we’re delighted to include them in this year’s Top 50.

Angel Food Bakery
Hmmm, we’re not so sure about the name, considering how wonderfully succulent, rich and downright gooey some of their creations are, there appears to be more devil than angel at work here. From mini cupcake towers to grand dessert tables, they offer a bespoke service for weddings of all sizes from their cloud/lair in Hove (we’re not convinced which!).
Sylvia’s Kitchen
Oh, what we wouldn’t give to take our extra-large tasting forks for an hour or two of pure joy in Sylvia’s Kitchen! Unfortunately, founder and master cake designer Liz Chatfield is far too busy dealing with the cream of Sussex weddings to put up with us cluttering up the place. Liz is a real sugar artist and recommended by some of the most impressive Sussex venues including Eastbourne’s Grand Hotel.
Victoria Made
These cakes aren’t merely ‘Victoria made’, they are lovingly sculpted and have achieved a wide range of admirers having been served to Olympians (at Jessica Ennis-Hill’s homecoming) and at Royal weddings. Victoria Made cakes have also adorned the tables of The Four Seasons and The Ritz in London. There really are no greater cake credentials than that!
