A honeymoon in Krakow; romantic areas & restaurants!

October 29, 2012

This is a guest post written by Boris from Apartments Apart- specialists in romantic holidays for two!

When looking at celebrating a honeymoon in Europe, Krakow is rarely considered. Spain and France tend to be favored, but actually Poland also has some great, romantic vibes if you head to the right area.  Krakow in Poland is a good option- there’s loads to do, the food and drink are cheap and if you plan well in advance you and your other half can have a wonderful, romantic time. Here are some romantic areas of Krakow you and your brand new hubby can visit in Krakow.

Wawel

This is located at the southern part of Old Town on Limestone Hill. Visiting Wawel you’ll see the cathedral and the Royal Castle. By standing at the peak of it, the great scenery of the river and city are seen.

Kazimierz

This is located as the Southern portion of Wawel. The place offers great pubs and amazing prices. It’s made even more romantic by the fact it’s lit purely by candles.

Wisla

The most romantic way to explore Wisla is by foot. Walking along side of the river holding hands is very romantic as the place has different scenery, benches, trees and four wonderful bridges. But the most romantic thing to do here is to sit on the grassy slope on the side of the river and watch the sunset.

And if you’re looking for a romantic restaurant…

Cherubino Restaurant

This is located on the Doubting Thomas Alley. The place offers Polish and Italian cuisines. The best thing about this place is that there are so many types of table to choose from, such as highlander sleighs, carriages, fisherman boats and hearth blazing beech wood.

Corloene

Nestled on the cobbles of Poselka Street, this restaurant offers Italian cuisine, which is inspired by the town of Sicilian. The place is very romantic due to the cozy atmosphere, where the walls are filled with the photographs of Italy’s famous movie artist. Aside from excellent cuisine, the place also offers wine that will make the night thoroughly romantic.

Cyrano de Bergerac

In this place Polish cuisines are served. With regards on how romantic the atmosphere, well the place is totally romantic. It has stunning brick interior, candle lightings and white linens covers. A huge selection of wines are also served.

With regards to where the two of you can stay during your honeymoon, staying in an apartment in Warsaw or spending the night in Krakow apartments can often work out cheaper than hiring a luxury double room in a hotel.

So, for a romantic getaway in Krakow these are the places and restaurants to visit. For unforgettable romantic vacation, Krakow should be one of your top choices!
