Starting and ending in the bright lights of Johanasburg, "the city of gold" you’ll travel the entire length of the world famous Krugar National Park over seven incredible days. Truly enjoying the majesty of South Africa you’ll camp under the stars in canvas tents with high density foam mattresses (bungalows or luxury tent options are also available, ask our team for details). By day you’ll travel in overland safari trucks and at times experience walking safaris with an armed guard.
Your guides will not only lead you on safe routes but also allow you to join in planning each day’s journey and highlights, giving the nearly-wed an extra say in proceedings far removed from picking wedding flowers or fonts for invites as you go in search of The Big Five (lions, elephants, rhinoceros, leopards and buffalo) which are so celebrated they even appear on each of South Africa’s largest denomination banknotes.
Over the course of your safari you'll visit;
You’ll meet your guides at Midrand Gautrain Station and step onboard the overland safari truck. Travelling trough the stunning South African countryside you’ll stop for lunch on route to Pafuri River Campsite where after enjoying an African sunset the evening will be spent around a roaring campfire.
You’ll rise for an early start, heading through the Parfuri Gate and into Krugar National Park. Your route will head via the notorious Crooks Corner where the Limpopo and Luvuvhu Rivers combine and South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique meet. The area is rich in large herds of elephants, buffalo and particularly noted for prolific birdlife numbers. Your party will then travel on to a rustic campsite in Tsendze where you can enjoy star gazing through a GPS assisted telescope.
You’ll rise at a far more leisurely pace before a game drive in search of the stars of the show. Lunch will be enjoyed at Makhadzi picnic area before more time with “the locals” for wildlife memories that will last a lifetime.
Today you’ll enjoy a leisurely brunch with all the trimmings as you head further through the bush. Lunch will be taken at Olifants Rest Camp and the rest of the day is dedicated purely to finding big game to capture with your camera lenses. Our guides are experts at spotting game far off in the distance that the untrained eye simply wouldn’t pick out then tracking that prey to get closer ensuring you’re able to put your photographic skills to the test at much more intimate distances.
Balule is an amazing area of Krugar National Park with plenty to see so a second day will be spent exploring and making the most of this chance to take the perfect photo or come face to face with your favourite animals. Lunch will be spent at Timavati Picnic spot before another evening by the campfire.
After a hearty breakfast you’ll head into the southern part of the national park where with cameras at the ready there will be more opportunities to get up close and personal with even more incredible wildlife. The last night out under the stars will again be spent around a camp fire and hearing the call of the wild.
Your last bush breakfast will give way to another fantastic day with some of South Africa’s most celebrated sons and daughters. Travelling through Mpumalanga Lowveld and up into the grasslands of the Highveld before exiting the park at Crocodile Bridge on route to Johannesburg.
