Limerick Guide

Limerick is a beautiful city in the west of Ireland which is really wonderful to explore with your friends. Enjoy the passion and excitement of the city combined with the tranquillity and peace of the river Shannon. Here’s our guide to getting the absolute most out of your time here!

Getting In

Plane

Flying is the best way to get to West Ireland by far and so we’d really suggest picking up a flight and touching down in Shannon Airport. Within the UK, Ryanair provides many flights from airports around the country for a great price. Get there fast and cheaply!

Train

This is a little more involved but if you don’t like flying, it’s possible to buy a SailRail ticket for a fairly reasonable cost and combine a ferry trip from Fishguard, Holyhead or Stranraer and then take the train to Limerick.

Car

Now driving to Limerick will take you and the girls a long time but it’s possible to drive to one of the ferry ports, travel over and then continue to drive down and west to Limerick.
