We don't have to persuade you that Liverpool is the perfect hen night destination - the stats talk for themselves! In 2008 Liverpool was designated the European Capital of Culture, which is a distinction London itself hasn't held. And the club scene is literally second to none, with TripAdvisor naming Liverpool the best nightlife destination in the country! No wonder it's the 4th most visited city in the country. With so much going for it, your Liverpool hen night is certain to be the best night ever, whether you want to live like a WAG with a limo, butler service, and guestlist nightclub entry, or would rather have a giggle with the girls with a show at a comedy club. You're guaranteed to love Liverpool!

Your guide to hen nights in Liverpool

Bars and Pubs

Liverpool has such a vibrant and energetic nightlife that where ever you head, you're likely to find something going on! Matthew Street is perfect for hen parties - it's got a huge number of clubs, including a lot of venues for cheap drinks or retro tunes. If you want something a bit more contemporary, Eberle Street has clubs playing all the mainstream and chart hits. And fashionable Seel Street has been named the 4th hippest street in the UK, due to its stylish bars and trendy restaurants, so head here if you're hoping to rub elbows with the coolest of the cool.

Love Liverpool

Liverpool's nightlife scene extends far beyond just clubs and bars though. The city loves to laugh, so if your hen night takes place during summer, you might be able to catch a bit of Liverpool's Comedy Festival, or winter hens can split their sides laughing at one of the many comedy clubs instead. There are plenty of theatre options available for anyone hoping to catch a show or two - the Liverpool Empire Theatre shows a lot of musicals to get your toes tapping. If music is more your thing, try the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. It's one of the world's great orchestras and provides a cultured, classy base for a wonderful hen evening. Also, no trip to Liverpool would be complete without a trip to the Cavern Club, the birthplace of the legendary Beatles.

Getting Around Liverpool

The city centre is small enough to stroll around. There's a good bus service around the city, and night buses run on weekends too, so you don't have to stumble home. The taxi service is good too - but substantially cheaper booking in advance than hailing in the street, and they can get busy in the evenings when the bars and clubs close.

Letting loose in Liverpool

Boasting the best nightlife in the country, the nightclubs in Liverpool are the greatest you'll find anywhere in the UK. You'll need to bring a pair of heels you can wear all night, as clubs frequently stay open as late (or early!) as 7am over weekends. The city really caters for a huge variety of musical tastes too. Head over to one of the many '70s, '80s or '90s clubs on Mathew Street to groove to all of your old favourites, or there are plenty of super clubs that play a mix of house, electro, chart or club. Some of them can host up to 2000 people on a weekend, so the atmosphere is absolutely electrifying! Roads like Seel Street have enough variety in clubs along them that one night out can encompass a whole span of genres, from rock and roll to electronica, indie to acoustic to Motown, basement or pop punk. As the city that birthed the Beatles, there is a whole host of musical talent here too; check out one of the many live music venues to catch the next big thing!

Liverpool Liquor

Liverpool hen nights have many fantastic options for sipping a few drinks before hitting the clubs. Kingdom Bar is a great place to indulge fine taste, with a strict dress code (we'd skip the fancy dress for this once, ladies) and an irresistible cocktail menu. At the other end of the cocktail spectrum, Alma de Cuba on Seel Street is a Latin American inspired bar, with a real carnival atmosphere. You sip your Caribbean style cocktails in an unforgettable setting too - the bar is converted from a Catholic Church, stained glass windows and all, and still has a live gospel choir on Sundays. For the more down market, the Magnet epitomises shabby chic and has a relaxed, laidback atmosphere - until the DJ arrives and the party starts! For cool beers and a warm welcome, a pub is your best bet - the Philharmonic Pub has a brilliant range of ales and wines and is worth visiting for the intricate and ornate interior alone. Alternately, try Thomas Rigbys. It's one of Liverpool's oldest pubs and serves a huge selection of international beers.

Liverpool Dining

You'd expect such a cultural capital to deliver some fairly delicious dishes on the food front, and Liverpool doesn't disappoint. Liverpool offers a whole range of delectable dining options, and there will be something to suit the culinary tastes of every group member! Their international cuisine is some of the best food in the city, with restaurants like The Maharaja, Quynny's, and Piccolinos consistently getting fantastic reviews from locals and tourists alike. Circo has great food, but the real draw is the entertainment - it's a uniquely circus-themed restaurant, and your meal will be accompanied by acrobats and gymnasts flying overhead, not to mention an assortment of fire breathers, contortionists, and sword swallowers. If you enjoy dinner with a show, there's no better place. And if you have the chance to eat at Panoramic 34, don't pass it up! The fine dining restaurant is the tallest in the UK and provides breathtaking views of the Liverpool skyline. The food is of the highest class and quality, and the entire experience is one you'll never forget. If you'd like, GoHen can take care of all the little details for you - just choose a cuisine and a budget, and we'll do the rest, so you can concentrate on enjoying yourself!
