Market Street, Trinity Lane and the surrounding areas get very lively at night, with quality tunes and delicious drinks flowing well into the early hours. There are so many places to relax in chilled out Cambridge!

Love Cambridge

As a cultural hub in the UK, it's certainly not all about the boozing in classy Cambridge. Walk about the 'backs' of the university, behind Kings College and out on to Kings Parade, almost more beautiful by night than by day if that's possible! If you fancy sitting back and relaxing in front of some quality theatre, Cambridge has it covered too - visit the Corn Exchange for music, theatre and arts, the ADC theatre to catch bright young things from the university and The Junction for theatre, comedy and new acts. There's even the Arts Picture House for trendy international art house films. If you're around in the summer, the city hosts a fantastic music festival with events that go on well into the night too.

Getting Around Cambridge

The centre of Cambridge is traffic-free and pedestrian-friendly, making it very pleasant to navigate on foot. It's also an iconic place to cycle, so make like the locals and tour the city on bike and have a whole lot of fun with the chi chi cycling crowd of Cambridge city centre. Unless you're staying on the outskirts of town, buses, trains or taxis should not prove necessary, but if you do need them, local services are cheap at £1-2. The council discourages cars, so if you don't fancy braving drizzle weather or towering high heels, hop in a local taxi. Our accommodation options for Cambridge are centrally located, making heading into the centre a cinch.

Cambridge Clubbing

The club scene in this city is both varied and buzzing with a trendy youthful vibe that really gets the party started. Enjoy classic cheesy tunes that everyone will love, new, avant-garde club tunes or pounding RnB beats. Cambridge's largest and most well-loved clubs has been host to exciting big names like Zane Lowe, Erol Alkan and High Contrast in the past and is frequented by hardcore music lovers all the time. There are jazz, hip hop and cool new DJ sets to try out as well as The Junction, which regularly hosts top live acts such as Deadmau5. With 5 major clubs, you're sure to find a party night out to suit everyone in Cambridge!

Cambridge Cold Ones

When you and the girls want a couple of relaxed drinks in the city before heading out to the clubs, Cambridge has it covered. Wander down St Andrews Street and Regent Street and you'll find plenty of trendy watering holes, many of which serve tasty food too. Try out the Fountain for cool drinks and beats or the Prince Regent if you fancy a cosy pub atmosphere. Baroosh, or 'B's' to locals is a real favourite, offering everything from a delicious fair-trade coffee to classic or champagne cocktails and a tasty group-pleasing menu which offers something for every palette. The Maypole on Portugal Place is well known as a great traditional pub in the heart of the city. For those looking for something a little bit special and stylish, Fleur De Lys and The Snug both offer a stylish drinks menu and a sophisticated atmosphere.

Cambridge Cuisine

Expect to find a wealth of 'modern British' gastropub and bistro efforts in trendy Cambridge, where you and your group can chow down on lots of comforting favourites like pies, burgers and roasts. Yum! You'll certainly never go hungry in this gourmet city. Release your inner carnivore and chow down on a juicy steak at one of the city's many fashionable 'chop houses'. If you fancy something with a little more bite, Indian and Chinese restaurants are also to be found all around the centre. The county of Cambridgeshire is famous for its apples and pork, so expect to find some delicious sausages and fruity desserts displayed proudly on menus all around the city and did you know - creme brulee was invented in Cambridge as a treat for the local undergraduates! So, if you do decide to treat yourself, just pass it off as an exercise in 'culture'.
