Tips for being an organised maid of honour …

It’s an exciting task being Maid of Honour and since you want to plan the best hen party ever for your bezzie we wanted to offer a helping hand! Don’t be daunted by the mission ahead – the best thing to do is get yourself into gear, remind yourself that you’ve been picked because you’re a highly valued friend and look at it as a great opportunity to do something special. You’ll be getting together with the girls and making some fun-packed memories, and to help you on your merry hen way we’ve written some handy guidelines -

Pick a date early on – it’s a great place to start, and if you pick it early on then it’s more likely that your hen activities are available, there will be more booking opportunities and as a general rule flights tend to be cheaper.

Choose a destination – if there are any clashes in the calendar you can always reschedule or consider an alternative, but to start you off some of the most popular destinations at GoHen are: London, Bath, Marbella, Ibiza, Barcelona and Brighton!

Decide who to invite – once you have an idea of who you want to take on your fabulous weekend, communicate with the girls as early as possible. It might be a good idea to make a Facebook event, and at GoHen we send out e-invites to help it all run smoothly.

Manage your financials – getting funds can sometimes be challenging, but you have to swallow this and get the expenses off your hen-goers in plenty of time. Be fair but firm and if they’re slow in paying then book without them at this stage.

Enjoy the night – it’s a huge honour organising the hen do and there’s no better way of reaping your reward than sitting back, enjoying yourself and seeing the huge grin on the bride-to-be’s face as you dazzle her with an amazing weekend. Mix a great destination with some super activities and you have the recipe for hen success!
