Unique Ideas for a Hen Do

If you have a hen party to organise, but are uncertain of what activity to book or what theme to have, we have some great tips to share with you. Below you’ll find ideas that will suit the sporty, upmarket or shy bride (sounds like the making of a popular girl group) …

The shy bride

Not everyone wants to be the centre of attention, even on their hen do. Here are a few ideas for activities suited to the quieter brides to be -

Wine tasting – ensuring that all the hens know their Pinot Grigio from their Sauvignon Blanc is not a bad idea, especially when it comes to the evening. Your vocabulary is sure to expand and you’ll all discuss the depth, colour and aroma of the wine you’ll be drinking in the evening!

Cooking classes – there’s a great range of cooking classes that you can attend including chocolate making. This is a great way of ensuring the day will never be forgotten because it’s so different. You could even dress up as sous chefs for the day.

Make up lessons – get the girls together to spend the day learning what colours suit each other and how to best apply make up. There are lots of options to make sure everyone looks fabulous.

The sporty bride

If they are the outdoors, gregarious type, then here are a few options for the sporty hens -

Golf – no longer the preserve of middle age businessmen, why not venture off onto a golf range? What makes this activity so great is that you already have you theme, why not carry on throughout the night on a pub golf trip in fancy dress? Although many groups dress in golf attire, why not mix things up a little and have all the hens dressed as pink ladies from Grease or in comedy costumes?

Water skiing – now if water skiing isn’t going to make for a memorable hen do, then we don’t know what kind of sport your bride-to-be likes. What could be more refreshing that having the sea breeze in your face and travelling at super speeds?

Canyoning – if the bride-to-be is an adrenalin junkie, a morning canyoning could be the perfect addition to the hen weekend! Not to mention a great hangover cure

The upmarket bride

If you enjoy the finer things in life then we’re sure she’ll enjoy any of these ideas -

Going to the races – ladies day at Ascot might be extremely popular for a hen do, but don’t forget there are many other races to attend such as Newmarket, Aintree and Chelmsford.

The theatre – it’s popular to see a West End show, but would your bride-to-be prefer to see ballet or opera? Taking the more cultured option for them would be much better than seeing Mama Mia and dressing up in Abba costumes, wouldn’t you agree?

A Paris hen do – taking a trip somewhere is an excellent idea and when it comes to Paris we’re sure you’re all thinking about the à la carte menus and wine, but have you thought about the Moulin Rouge and take a trip to the Baccarat Museum instead of the Louvre? There are some great hidden treasure is Paris.

So there it is, we’ve thrown together a couple of twists on some hen do activities to ensure your hen night is as unique as possible. The best tip that we can offer you is to do something that’s personal to the bride, she’ll love you for it and you’re sure to all enjoy the day and night’s festivities.
