Royal Ascot – Ladies Day Hen Weekends

Horse racing hen do Today is the first day of the famous flat meeting Royal Ascot where the best flat horses from around the world compete over 5 days. Each day at 2pm, the Queen drives by in front of the main stand in her carriage before taking her place in the Royal Box.

Royal Ascot is a unique and colourful occasion as the crowd are all dressed in wonderful dresses, shoes and hats, while all the men usually come dressed in suits and top hat. The pinnacle day for the women is Thursday which is Ladies Day and includes many competitions for the best dressed lady and best hat or headpiece.

Kick starting the first race today is the Queen Anne Stakes in recognition of Queen Anne who founded Ascot Races in 1711.
