Royal Ascot – Ladies Day Hen Weekends
Today is the first day of the famous flat meeting Royal Ascot where the best flat horses from around the world compete over 5 days. Each day at 2pm, the Queen drives by in front of the main stand in her carriage before taking her place in the Royal Box.
Royal Ascot is a unique and colourful occasion as the crowd are all dressed in wonderful dresses, shoes and hats, while all the men usually come dressed in suits and top hat. The pinnacle day for the women is Thursday which is Ladies Day and includes many competitions for the best dressed lady and best hat or headpiece.
Kick starting the first race today is the Queen Anne Stakes in recognition of Queen Anne who founded Ascot Races in 1711.
If you and the girls are looking for a very classy way to spend your hen do, it doesn’t get much better than a day out at Royal Ascot. Everything about the course is stylish and you’ll be sure to have a wonderful experience. Tickets are still available for the first 4 days of the meeting, so get in quick if you fancy a great day out with the girls. At the moment you couldn’t have picked a better week with the current fine weather.
