Stood up at the wedding… by the priest
Everyone knows that the Spanish have a laid back attitude, but a British couple found out the hard way just how extreme their lifestyle approach is.
Gary and Marie Mead had arranged a wedding ceremony in Spain with 74 of their friends after legally marrying in Las Vegas last August. They had spent £9,000 on their dream celebration and had gone to great lengths to organise everything, from rehearsing their vows in Spanish to sending over a cake from England.
However, on the day of the ceremony, they were locked outside the Las Alcazares Church in Murcia without a priest. “When we got to the church and realised it was shut I grew more and more concerned but in the end we has to laugh” commented Gary.
Luckily, they didn’t let this ruin them enjoying the reception and instead headed to the beach before making their way to their planned reception.
