river cruise hen do in bath
Bath really is the jewel in the crown of Somerset's most beautiful locations and a tranquil and incredibly trendy city to explore. But after all that dancing (and possibly a few Cocktails) you might not want to do too much walking. That's where a relaxing bath hen party boat trip could really be just what the Doctor Scholls ordered.
You'll cruise along the glorious Avon River which is rich in wildlife including;
Herons, Kingfishers, Coots, Buzzards, Red Kites, Cormorants, Swans, Ducks, Moorhens, Trout, Eels, Roach and Otters.
You're welcome to bring your own food, drinks or picnics on board with you to keep yourselves fed and watered. Or if you'd prefer, once you reach the village you'll find some great cafes and restaurants/pubs. Alternatively we can arrange a buffet with drinks and decorations, please ask our team for more details.
From the Pulteney Weir (just under Pulteney Bridge, which is only one of only four bridges in the world to have shops along both sides much like the Ponte Vechio in Florence) you'll head up river to the quaint and charming village of Bathampton where you can disembark at Bathampton Mill.
There's the incredibly picturesque St Nicholas Parish church where you'll find the graves of the first governor and founder of New South Wales. Or the slightly less celebrated Walter Snickert who many believe to have been the infamous Jack the Ripper.
Having recovered from any excesses the night before, you can decide to catch the next return cruise or walk back along the famous Kennet and Avon canal.
During the journey a guide will point out some great facts about the history of Bath as well as the river itself. The boat does have a roof which is removed on sunny days.
